Will's Story

September 30th marked 2 years for Will's battle with cancer. The first year, we spent in pure shock and survival mode. The second year has been so much harder in so many ways. We've realized how much we've missed out on the past couple of years bouncing between isolation, hospital treatments and managing side effects. Life moved on for everyone while we were tunnel-visioned on fighting for his life. I'm heartbroken at what cancer has taken from us. I envisioned such a different childhood for my children.

Will has been restrained so much throughout treatment. He's fought every port access and OR trip. He fights through most of the calming sedatives they give prior to going to the OR. He seems to struggle more the longer treatment continues. He's very close to end of treatment so we're very hopeful the next year is going to be all about healing. I feel so guilty struggling with what cancer has done to Will because I recognize how lucky we are to still have him... cancer has taken 2 of his friends this year.

He's very close to end of treatment so we're very hopeful the next year is going to be all about healing. We plan to spend the next year learning and making up for all the things we've missed out on as a family.

Will's Hobbies & Interests
