👶 Meet Remy: The Little Shadow with a Big Heart

Being a Charleston Elf is more than a kind gesture—it is a commitment to providing a child the full holiday experience they deserve. While you are not required to purchase every single item on their wish list, the expectation is that each Elf provides the child with all of their holiday gifts. We understand that not everyone can take on that level of commitment alone and warmly encourage you to team up with friends, family, or coworkers who would like to make a meaningful impact as well.

Remy's Story

Remy is Reggie’s 2-year-old little brother, and he absolutely adores his big brother. Wherever Reggie goes, Remy wants to follow—his eyes full of admiration and love. He’s playful, curious, and always ready to share a giggle or a hug. In the midst of Reggie’s brave fight, Remy has been a constant source of joy and light, reminding everyone of the simple happiness that comes from being together.

Remy may be small, but his love for his brother is enormous—and it shines through every smile.

Reggie’s Journey with Cancer
Hello, my name is Jolisa, and I’m Reggie’s mom.
Just two days after his second birthday, our world turned upside down. Reggie was diagnosed with not one, but two types of cancer—Wilms tumor and neuroblastoma. Hearing those words felt like the ground disappeared beneath us. In an instant, our happy, playful toddler became a tiny warrior facing a battle no child should ever fight.

Reggie endured surgery to remove a kidney and a lymph node, followed by 27 grueling rounds of chemotherapy. There were days filled with fear, sleepless nights, and moments when hope felt fragile. But through it all, Reggie never stopped smiling. His strength and resilience carried us through the darkest times.

Today, I am overjoyed to share that Reggie is disease-free. Those words feel like a miracle. This journey has been the hardest experience of our lives, but it has taught us the meaning of gratitude and the power of hope.
Reggie has a younger brother, Remy, who looks up to him with admiration. Watching them together reminds me why we fought so hard—to give them both the childhood they deserve.

I cannot thank your organization enough for helping make Christmas possible for my children this year. After nine months out of work during Reggie’s treatment, I didn’t know how we would manage. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express. You’ve given us more than gifts—you’ve given us joy, hope, and a reminder that we are not alone.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for shining light into our family’s darkest season.
—Jolisa, Reggie’s Mom
