Maeve's Story

Maeve is 8 now and was diagnosed with leukemia just a few weeks before her fifth birthday in January of 2019. Treatment is difficult and long for blood cancers. As long as the original 800 days of chemo felt, relapse and the path to transplant has been a horror show all it’s own. Maeve relapsed a year ago with a leukemia that had mutated into a much worse and harder to treat form and is now nine months out from a bone marrow transplant. This year has been full of loss and anxiety and we can’t express enough how grateful we are for your kindness and generosity. Maeve loves puzzles and games, the beach, princesses and mermaids. We’ve added some snow appropriate clothes to the wish list. Just before Maeve’s relapse we were scheduled to go to the Believe In Tomorrow (a respite house for children with cancer) on Wisp Mountain in January 2021 on the anniversary of Maeve’s diagnosis - also one day after her brother Gabriel’s birthday. It would have been their first time exploring big snow and they were very excitedly looking forward to it. It turned out that relapse happened and transplant was that week instead. This year we are still unable to travel far, but are scheduled to go the Believe in Tomorrow’s Hendersonville, NC house and are going to surprise the kids with a trip to a ski/tube place in Maggie Valley as a sort of do-over.

Merry Christmas,
The Framptons
