Tremel's Story

My family consists of my husband, our two sons and myself. Tremel (14) is our youngest son. Back in 2020 he was diagnosed with mesenchymal chondrosarcoma. He has underwent two major surgeries for reconstruction. And so many others in between. His little body has been through so much. I am grateful that his spirit is strong.

He is a sweet young man. He thinks of others more often than himself. Although he is often a brat to his big brother AJ (16). Tremel has been on home bound since before Covid. As a result, he lost contact with the friends he knew and has been isolated from other children his age. Lately he has mentioned that he would like to make new friends because he doesn’t have any. I want him to embrace his new normal. I am terrified of how others will treat him because they don’t know or understand all that he has been through.

Tremel & AJ both enjoy video gaming a LOT… lol. It’s what keeps them occupied most of their free time. I work 6 days a week as a forklift operator at the Charleston Port. My husband is trying to get his pressure washing business off the ground. Because I work Sunday through Friday he makes sure that the boys get to all of their appointments.

Our family is grateful to have the support of the Charleston Elves to help give our boys a Merry Christmas. I have asked many times what they want for Christmas. But they understand our finances are tight, so they just said gift cards. But I know that AJ would enjoy a Razor Huntsman keyboard for his pc and some clothes. He wears a large in shirts and 36x32 in pants. Tremel would enjoy a paintball gun and shoes. He loves the Jordan retros. His shoe size is a mens 9. Again my family is very grateful for what you are doing for our family.
