On August 12, 2020 Sawyer Brooks (age 8) was diagnosed with stage 2 Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. We were told he would have to undergo two rounds of chemotherapy since cancer was caught super early. September 1st Sawyer began treatment and he has completed his two rounds of chemo as of the end of September! During the time he was at the hospital two of his beloved Labrador retrievers passed, they were 13 and 14 years old. This was really hard on him since both died during his hospital stays, one during each admission to the hospital. While he isn’t undergoing chemo anymore, he is battling a lung infection that requires at least 6 weeks of antibiotics. Though out all of this, he has maintained positive spirits and in fact, has been a beacon of hope for another family member of ours that was too diagnosed with cancer. Sawyer has such a kind, generous, loving heart. All he wants to do is make everyone laugh, smile and leave them in a better mood than before they met him.
We are super blessed and grateful that you have chosen to help our family this Christmas! You have no idea what this means to our entire family. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!
