Mason is 7 years old. Minos is Elia’s best (and often only) friend and brother. He has his own challenges, having autism, but he is always there to help. I can’t imagine going through all of this without their bond, especially now during the pandemic when we cannot risk going out into the world without major precautions.
Thank you so much for Blessing our family in this way. We feel so blessed to have donors, such as yourself, give of your time and money to bless my kids in ways we cannot financially take on right now. The past year has been a struggle mentally, physically and financially. We went from a two-income family to a single. While we are fortunate to have my husband still working through all this Covid-19 time, we have still been hit hard financially. We feel like a year has been taken from us that we can never get back. Memories or struggles and pain we will have for a lifetime have overshadowed so much of what should have been fun and happy times. Knowing that someone out there is taking the time to bless us just fills me with so much happiness. My kids deserve some unexpected joy in this time. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Your generosity means more to us than you will ever know.
Let me tell you a little about Mason. Mason is as smart as they come. He, like his sister has overcome a lot. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was just two as well. Over the last 4 years he has adapted to his permanent diagnosis and is slowly learning how to check his own blood sugar and recognize the symptoms of his high and low blood sugar levels. He is constantly changing and growing, which sometimes makes it very difficult to keep his blood sugar levels regulated. He is a very active, healthy, and thriving 6 year old with so much potential. We are very thankful for this. He has come a long way on 4 years.
