Jordan is Nyeem's little brother
Nyeem is nine years old and he was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoma Leukemia) in 2013. He is currently in remission and has been for the past 2 years. It has….was…and is still hard to get back into the swing of things because we are still back and forth to the doctor different things. He has special learning needs, goes to occupational, and physical therapy every week. I also have 2 daughters and a set of twin boys. I work a part time job, so I am incredibly thankful for Courageous Kidz and Santa’s Elves.
When Nyeem was three years old he was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoma Leukemia). November 29, 2013 is a day I will never forget. It changed my life forever. Nyeem’s doctor and hospital schedule was overwhelming. After Nyeem was diagnosed we stayed in the hospital for two full weeks. Then Nyeem was hospitalized every few weeks for the next six months. In and out of hospitals was our norm for the next few years.
During this time, I stepped away from work because Nyeem needed my support now more than ever. Nyeem has been in remission since July 16, 2016. It was a long and rough 2 1/2 years. I (we) thank God every day for his Grace and Mercy of keeping him and giving us the strength and faith to hold on.
Everyone in the family pitched in to help. My oldest daughter came home from college for a semester because we couldn’t afford to pay her college expenses. Her help at home was a huge help, since financially we are still not where we were or where I would like to be. We lost a few material things, but nothing can replace the life of my little love bug. He means the world to us.
Nyeem has been a twinkle in our eyes since he was born. Nyeem has bought so much joy into our lives. He completed our family. He was the little boy we always wanted and needed. Not only did we need him, he needed us.
With sincere appreciation and gratefulness, I want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU AND THANK YOU for you and your organization helping my family have a GREAT CHRISTMAS. Gratitude lives and grows in my heart knowing the smiles that you are going to put on my babies faces. I cannot thank you enough for your being an ANGEL to me and my family. May God continue to bless you and your family.
